Post Ratchet and Clank
So I bought Crack in Time (haven't opened it yet) and I'm thinking of getting Tools of Destruction in a bit.

My question to you guys is: Is it still fun (story wise) even though I havent played the passed ones or Booty (apparently it sucked)? I really want to get into this series, as I loved Jak and Daxter, and this seems like a brother to that series (kind of like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot during the 90s)

Thanks for the help

I haven't played the more recent ones (although I played the demos for Crack in Time), but I have played the past Rachet and Clanks. Ratchet and Clank is a fun story, funny/interesting characters, satisfying gameplay, astonishing visuals, and excellent writing. I recommend Ratchet and Clank to anyone, so go get it!

They do look and sound amazing, they give me back the great times I had with Jak and Daxter (they need to fucking make that series on PS3, like the God of War Collection)

I'm just worried I'll miss some of the story if I only play ToD and CiT

True, but it is easy. You can buy the games for PS2 (if you still have a PS2), or you can watch playthroughs of the games. In my opinion, the first Ratchet and Clank and Up Your Arsenal are needed to know the story before the Future trilogy. You can play the others if you wish, but it means delaying getting into the Future trilogy, and it also means a lot of fun.

Its fun but play Tools of Destruction first before Crack in Time so that you wont feel like your going backwards with the gameplay differences.

I went backwards in the Halo series from Halo 3 to Halo:CE. Not worth it. Crack in Time has awesome weapons though.

I just got to the point in ToD where I'm supposed to find statue heads to enter a tournament.

I spent 100 dollars of my birthday money to get Saints Row 2, ToD, and CiT.

Well spent? I think so. I still have about 1k left.....before college tuition fees come flowing in (FEEEEEECK!!!)
